Now we all have them days where were moody or sad over the little things. Or maybe lately you've been feeling sad in general? So with 13 ways to be happy,you'll be smiling in no time! And just to make this post even happier,its all in colour!
1. Even if you don't feel like it,smile! It's proven to make you happier so bear that grin!
2.Listen to happy songs (and sing them too!). Avoid songs that make you feel sad (unless you're going through a break up! Studies show that when going through a break up,if you listen to songs about being heartbroken,it eventually makes you feel better! So you can start bopping out to 'We are Never Getting Back Together' by Taylor Swift guilt free!) So when feeling sad,grab your Ipod,earphones in and turn up the volume. 'Call Me Maybe' anyone?!
3.Down in the dumps on a sunny day? Grab a friend (or your dog!) and sunbathe. Soaking up that vitamin D is sure to boost your mood!
4. Is the cold getting you grumpy? Well,spend the day on your couch in your comfiest pajamas with your favourite rom-com,some popcorn and hot chocolate!
5. Chocolate(in moderation,of course!) releases a hormone in your body that has been proven to make you happier! That's why you always grab for the chocolate when your sad,your body knows how to make itself happy!
6. Exercise! Yes it doesn't sound ideal and you may want to cozy up in your pajamas(see step 4) but exercise is the best way to make you happy,along with healthy foods such as fruit and veg! So save the chocolate for really bad moods!
7. Do a nice thing. Spreading happiness is a great way to gain it. So do a good deed,wether you help out and elderly neighbour or just leave a positive comment on someones facebook. Just knowing that you've made someone elses day will instantly make yourself feel better!
8. Turn off the computer,get rid of the phone and spend time just on your own,forgetting about the outside world. Trust me,I used to be caught up in constantly checking my facebook and then I decided to just leave it for a while and I feel so much better! Now I'm not saying completely get rid of your computer,but just remember that you don't constantly need to be re-loading your Twitter!
9.Treat yourself! Have some 'Me-Time' and pamper yourself! Either by hitting the shops and treating yourself to a brand new outfit or a new lipgloss! Now I' not saying money will make you happy but every so often,buying yourself something can really lift your mood. Or alternatively if you don't feel like leaving the house,have a pamper day. Google homemade facemasks and homemade skin and hair care ideas or just use any products you already have. Take a long relaxing bath with candles and a nice cold drink by your side with some lighthearted music (AKA forget the heavy metal!) Just spend a day relaxing and you'll feel much better!
10. Those silly boys driving you mad? Forget them! Yeah you still like him,but if he doesn't feel the same way,its time to move on! Introducing best friends! The ones who slag him in a funny way,to make you realise that he's the one missing out! And trust me,he is! So stop stalking his facebook and crying alone with your icecream. Grab a few extra spoons and invite over them girls because you know what,you'd do the same for them!
11. Clean your room! I know,I hate doing it too but not only is the end result is amazing but it actually de clutters your mind! This allows your brains creative side come out and will make your mind more focused and make you happy!
12. Surround yourself with bright colours! Why do you think yellow is always associated with happiness? Or red with anger and pink with love? Because they're the emotions they make you feel!So avoid dark colours like black and dark browns and surround yourself with happier ones! For example,orange makes us feel sociable,green makes you feel balanced while blue is very calming!
13. Think about who'll you'll be in ten years time and wether the reason you're sad now will matter. Planning your dream wedding is more fun than you'd think (don't forget the flowers and invtiations!) and imagine places you're going to visit! Plan your dream trip and daydream about your dream job. It really gets you excited for when you're older. But remember,still live in the now!
